Fazenda Rio Brilhante: The Shining Star of Brazilian Coffee
Fazenda Rio Brilhante is located in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, in a micro-region known as Pantano . The farm grows coffee on 1,600 hectares of land, producing around 130,000 sacks of coffee per harvest. Founder Inácio Urban was born in the southern Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul and joined the farm in 2006 with his children Erika and Fernando Urban .
Fazenda Rio Brilhante has won many national and international awards for its innovative and sustainable production approach. In 2017, the farm was awarded 2nd place in the Imaflora - Rainforest Alliance competition and 3rd place in the Cerrado Mineiro regional competition. In 2020, it was crowned with 1st place in the Ethics and Traceability Award for its environmentally and human-oriented agricultural practices.
